Hello, I have been having a hard time with getting the Cata client started. I have the server working properly (as in I can type server info in the worldsever screen and get return information) but when I d'led the need to 4.3.4 (which took 2 hours to d/l at the library where I can only access internet at this moment) it can only open up the login screen at the library computer (because it has internet) but when I get home to my server, it does not want to open, and I get this type of error : Cannot stream the required archived data, please check your internet connection.
But I have no internet at my house, and I have spent many hours researching this issue with only one idea, that the "need to 4.3.4" exe file is locked. Also, I have tried modifying the mfil file to no success as well. and yes, the server is up and running when I am trying that part. ;-)
Any ideas, I'd hate the idea on giving up on Cata, but I honestly have no idea what to do from here on.

You should open your own thread for this, It's not likely to be seen in such a huge amount of comments. All I can say is make sure you downloaded the complete cata client, And not an install while you play version.

I don't see anything like that either. Maybe use a friend to download it for you, And put it on a usb stick or something? My game shows as being 17.7 gb, So that's a pretty big file. Unless you have a laptop or something you could leave at their house downloading. I doubt anyone is going to put their game on a download site.

Actually, if everything is set to 127.0.0.1 in server mySql auth realms the auth conf, world conf. you can actually use the mini client if server is on same computer as the client. simply make the clients ip 127.0.0.1 as well, and updates as localhost. it worked fine for me offline. good luck.
Hey guys. the server updated my client to like 27.1 gb after mass exploration. It updates pretty good. i osed ExO's mini client 434 he oput here in the forums.

I'm surprised my game isn't bigger then. But time will tell. I doubt if anyone would care, But in the usa we have free dial up internet, So if you can get most of the game downloaded, you could link with that.
okay, i tried that and it didnt work, but i founda clue. while testing around`with files I found something called solidwow.exe, which came from a site i forget the name but its for 4.0.6 why this is revalant is because the exe actually contacted the server.
so its the exe i need to replace, not the mfil, or anything like that. thing is this exe i have for 4.3.4 came from exe's need to 4.3.4 rar. so Im not sure why im the only one having the issue, but it wont work offline because of this it seems. Thoughts?

I guess it depends on who created the exe your using, And who it's trying to contact. Could be that particular one is linking to a dead site, Or a blocked site. And the new one doesn't have that problem. I'm kind of wondering if your game will update again after using the 406 version, Or not. Don't forget that you can manually patch from 406 up to 434 too. But make a backup first, In case it starts messing up again.
I dont have a copy of 406, but when i found this solidwow it said it would work for 406 to 430, my guess it wont work for me cuz i have 434. so Ive started a hunt for any and all other exe clients, and if any of these dont work, my last idea was to ask if its possible to modify the darn exe file itself! but i had also at one time took out mfil and tfil files out of the folder and it gave me the same error about streaming the archived data, so all those forum posts i read about modifying it so it would connect to my server, has kinda been proved wrong. but if i can find a friend or some one willing to let me keep my labtop at their house to dl the torrent I may just end up doing that because this is irritating me so much!
