Hey there all!
I am curious, what repack are you running, and how stable is it?

We all know that EmuCoach Official 4.3.4 is the best, but other people may be here, running something different.
If you are running a repack, what is it? do you have links to share?

I figure this could help people who want to test the repack waters.

Thanks!

Personally I only play the EmuCoach repacks, not due to any obligation as super mod, but because I love the work that's been done. I'm honestly surprised, and happy, as to how long they've continued working on the 4.3.4 repack.
I actually haven't been playing any repacks at all since I'm waiting for the MoP repack. I didn't want to feel burned out on WoW with creating new characters or having to get re-start everything.

If anyone were to try to get into repacks, I would strongly recommend TrinityCore's 3.3.5, or EmuCoach's 4.3.4 repack. So much work has been done to both, that I feel either would be a great, easy, experience to get into.
I'm not sure if anyone has a freshly compiled TrinityCore 3.3.5 without any additions and is pure WoW. If only I still had all the tools I used to compile it, and remembered what I did to fix certain errors that occurred, I'd love to post a recent build for ease of access. Unless they already have that available?

I started with the 3.3.5, but the wife and I wanted to be able to fly in azeroth without having to patch the wrath dbc files. Not including all the issues that come from doing that.

Yeah, this is exactly what had me move to 4.3.4... Now I want to try Battle Pets, which is pushing me to find a 5.4.8 repack.

It seems people don't run repacks higher than 4.3.4? They don't seem all that stable.

That's mostly the same for me. Another reason was, I became pro-horde while playing retail, and when I got a 3.3.5 server, Orgrimmar looked disgusting, and I didn't know much of where things where.

Most WoW servers are either PvP content only from higher expensions, or vanilla, TC, WotLK, and Cata.
That's just from what I've seen personally, I haven't seen too many servers or repacks that are actually being developed into a blizzlike repack.
I also haven't really been looking anymore, since there's no need to. I figure at some point, I'm going to end up getting retail again, that is if the MoP repack isn't fun enough playing by my self.

I personally just love the pandarians and the monk class. I also loved the story, the dungeons, etc. I've played every expansion except BFA, and MoP is still my favorite. 2nd favorite is probably WoD, due to the garrisons. I loved having a little "personal city" with a bank, shops for my specific character, etc. Didn't have to deal with lag from mass amounts of players, or the constant sounds of someone crafting something or the sounds of their mounts.

I stopped playing retail at MoP, so it holds a special place for me. The art style in Pandaria is a welcome change!
It's funny, I have heard everyone complain about Garrisons, but sounds like you play Solo, so I guess it's awesome for Solo players.

I started playing in Cataclysm, I never cared for WoW until I saw the trailer with Deathwing, that made me sign up the next day and give it a try.
And I know everyone complains, but I'm not sure why. I love doing dungeons and battlegrounds, but when questing or crafting or anything else, I'd be solo and go to my garrison for really anything I needed. I never really saved up gold or crafting anything worth selling outside AH, so I had no need to be in Orgrimmar except for other trainers or just to get to Cata areas.

I played WoW mostly in MoP though, it's the only expansion I didn't cancel my subscription during. Every other expansion, I cancel, then sign back up later on, just to cancel a month later.

I'm still using Emucoach's repack 4.3.4 v8.1 :) Planning to update to 9.1 soon. I've tried a few others but so far, this is stable and very playable. Having lots of fun with my wife playing together. One thing I noticed about the repacks is that the newer the expansion, the harder it is to find a playable repack. I guess it's due to the amount of work and codes needed to stabilize the game. I dabbled in programming ages ago (almost 2 decades has passed since...) and I know it takes time and isn't easy. Kudos to Emucoach for making not only making it possible but to continue the work. Guess that's why I'm a supporter, not so much about getting the freebies/latest updates but more because its my way of acknowledging their efforts.

Anyway that's my 1 cent sharing. Cheers!

Glad to hear! And yes, that is very true. On the newer repacks you need to have a development team working on it private (in order to make it proper), exactly as you mention.
Thanks for the nice words by the way.

Also, about update I would recommend waiting till mid december and download the VIP - V.10 instead of v9.1. It should hopefully be much more fixed! (At least that's what I am trying to achieve)

ExO, from what I hear, this V10 will be awesome! Already I read that your team has fixes a lot of bugs!

Mid Dec feels like a fair way off, but it will be worth the wait! Thank you and your team very much for doing all of this, my enjoyment each night after work would not be possible without you guys! Truly the most recommended, and stable repack around!

I wish I found you guys earlier!

I started playing retail at the initial release and played through cata. The wife started in BC. I know a lot of people complained about the pandarians, but they are part of the warcraft lore.

The problems that I had was classes being "dumbed-down", cross-realms, name changes, etc. Retail removed the talent trees, made it where one could go to the trainer and buy special and unique abilities instead of having to do the quest. With the cross-realms/name changes, players became larger a$$es. I started playing mmorpg's back when UO and EQ came out and your name, your guild's name, and reputation meant everything.

It just all seemed to be going to pot.

I definitely hated the cross-realm stuff. There was nothing more annoying than going to a questing area, or skinning area, and seeing some pandaran pos killing everything, with a (*) next to his name, or whatever it was, that meant he was from a different realm.
I was also quite peeved when I had a guild called "Pandaran Warfare" that had roughly 20k gold in the guild bank, mostly from me just depositing gold in there every now and then, just to quit WoW for a few months, then come back to find out other people in the guild can claim leadership if guild leader isnt on for a long enough time. And of course, I was kicked out of the guild, so I couldn't try to re-claim it, because the guy who took it was a level 15 or so who was inactive for about 2 months at the time.
I immediately canceled my subscription and didn't pick it back up until near the end of WoD.

Apologies for the necro.

I have been with EmuCoach since I tried v4 over a year ago and signed up for supporter so I could see if it was worth it.

It was.

The newer releases are more stable than the ones before and I am really excited to see what v10 and MOP brings to the table.

In terms of 3.3.5 I do enjoy SPP but I am mostly playing 4.3.4 with EmuCoach.

Personally, I started WoW just after BC launched and played consistently through Cata. I did try MoP, WoD and Legion but never found myself playing for more than a month or so.

A little late for this thread... I use Frayre Repack (Jeutie's continuation) for 3.3.5; It is very stable and they still release updated cores from time to time. Looking forward to play on the EmuCoach repacks :D

I started playing WoW at the beginning of Wrath, the nostalgia makes me come back to it every once in a while.

I started with the mangos official 3.3.5a repack after I couldn't get a trinitycore server to compile correctly. We then moved onto a 4.3.4 repack once I found a client that would work with windows 10's annoying habit of making every folder read-only and not allowing you to change it. That 4.3.4 repack has too many issues so I started doing some research to find a good 4.3.4 repack and ended up here. Will try out the MOP repack here too.

Playing the 3.3.5 trinity repack atm. I tried a MoP repack on ac-web but there were class bugs and the thread was old, so I assume its not being updated.

Do you prefer 3.3.5 over 4.3.4?
If you tried compiling the Trinity 3.3.5 source based on the guides they give you only, then it wouldn't surprise me if you received errors. Took me a couple of tries to finally get it working, as was originally only able to compile it in 32x.
Do you remember what the errors were, if you still care to play 3.3.5? - If I can even remember how I fixed them :phew:

Most MoP repacks aren't being updated anymore, I think mostly because there isn't enough attention for it. Most people want Vanilla to 4.3.4, and then the latest expansions.
Not sure why most people dislike MoP.
