Stuck on "Connected" - both with my server and my friend's server

My friend and I have been trying to get a Cataclysm repack server up. I made the first attempt and managed to get everything running, but I'd get stuck on "Connected." A lot of other people seemed to have this issue in the past and it related to their OpenSSL installation. I tried various versions of OpenSSL's dlls, including the ones included in the repack, but none solved the problem.

My friend then gave it a shot and was able to get a server up and running and past "Connected." Now when I try to log in to their server through a Hamachi connection, I am still getting stuck on "Connected." This seems like a much less common issue, and I can't find any solutions that solve the problem. Firewalls are off and the Hamachi connection works (I can ping them). What could be going wrong?

Are you running your server on your own computer, or do you have a remote server for that?

I'm not sure, if that will fix your problem, but you can try to bind the server ip in the realm database.

For that, connect to your mysql database using HeidiSQL (or any other SQL DB Editor you might use).

Open the "auth" database, then open "realmlist" table.

Change the "address" to the hamachi IP or your public IP (you can check that on specific websites. Just google it).


For your problem with your OpenSSL, i'd recommend installing a complete set from OpenSSL. I had issues in the past with that and installed single DLLs into the servers folder, but that caused even more problems, atleast for me.

Most of the time, it appears conetando and does not connect.
It is the client's problem
It is not the right client, which needs that server.
