can a mod or admin confirm a few things for me please?

1. how big is the collection of files from the point of clicking the wow.exe from the need to 434 folder?
2. Do I have to have internet on the computer I am installing this on, or can I just thumb drive the files to the server computer?
(I use a router to play with my wife at home where I have no internet)
3 Is there a way to manually download these files without torrent and without doing it the (need to 434) way?

1. Once the setup is finished, the file space should be about 28GB.

2. That depends, the client has to download other files as you play. Once every file is downloaded in the client, it can be used without ever having internet.
At least, the other client on EmuCoach does that, which is where I got mine. I haven't downloaded this client until just now.

3. There probably is, somewhere, but I haven't seen it, nor looked. I'm assuming your skeptical about this? From what I've seen, both clients on this website work just fine, and shouldn't cause any problems.

It takes ages for it to all download properly.

Hell, you'd have to move around every zone for it to start downloading the data for that specific zone.

I remember I left the client open when I went out. I think it ended up downloading everything, if not most of it. I've never (or rarely) seen it download again.

It's never done that for me.

It probably knows you have good internet speed (possibly?) so it automatically does it all.

I mean for people with very slow internet, could you imagine the lag and latency for that person if it was trying to download it all at once?

I think I did it back on a college campus, where I had really bad internet speed, so I'm not sure. Maybe it hasn't downloaded it all, and I just haven't been to every zone?

You have answered almost all, but the reason Im asking is because the only way I connect to the internet is at the local library, and i havent been able to finish downloading through the 434 exe way completely, and everytime it doesn't finish i lose all progress, so I'd have to do it in one shot. I have tried looking around on here and different places, but I havent found any client downloads other than torrents, which the library does not allow. My thumb drive has enough space to hold the 28g, but it just takes forever to download it from these computers :-/


Alright, after letting it sit at the library for almost 2 hours, it brings me to the login screen. however, when I bring the thumb drive home and try it, it states that it cannot stream the required archived data. From my research the only idea I've found as to why this is, is because the client exe i am using is Locked. Do you know anything about how to continue from this point? (I've tried re-configuring the mfil file with 2 different setups, without success.)

so to test this theory I tried joining the monster wow server, and it had a similar file like the need to 4.3.4 to install, same progress, and the internet here seems faster today, so it loaded it up, but when I went to log in, it said login server down. Oi vey, I have no luck with that either. They have a station to allow kids to play minecraft here so I'd imagine the network settings would allow me to log into a wow server, or am I wrong. Also, does the cata client need the file folders "dbc, maps, mmaps, vmaps" ? is that why it still looks to connect online? cuz I even put those into the main directory folder with no luck either.


I appreciate any and all help about this issue by the way

It's possible the connection to WoW private servers are blocked, but I'm not sure on that.
The client definitely does not need the dbc, maps, mmaps, or vmaps. It should just be download then play.

I guess this client either downloads the data over a long period of time, or not at all, and you constantly need internet to play. Pretty sure its the former, though.
You'd probably have better luck trying the torrent version, somewhere else where you can get internet access. that doesn't block torrents.
I'm not sure if there is an uploaded version, similar to the one on this thread, where it downloads everything at once, as that would be quite a big download. Even if you did find one, like I said, it'd be too big of a download, it'd take at least the majority of the day. Unless the library has really fast internet, but I doubt it considering it's free public internet access.
