The above is a great (and accurate) description with 1 [personal opinion] difference. The old school RPG's had VERY immersive, in depth story lines that surpass even the modern RPG's, and are almost completely lacking in to modern MMORPG's. As the old RPG'/s mae their money off [strait out sells]. Modern MMORPG's are built with in-game + future profits in mind continuously. It has indeed turned into a viable profit making structure through & through on almost every MMORPG.They tend to put more efforts into the "video intensity", and PVP sides of the game, than the storylines. While similar in styructure. There are differences vastly. At least from the older RPG's. Though a few pack a decent story line.
