First of all, this isn't the standard custom-random-instant-everything server. It's the opposite: A new concept for the game, that tries to implement a real sandbox without destroying the game core mechanics or the lore. Think of it as a merge between the sandbox element of Eve Online and the accessibility of WoW. You should really check out our website http://warlordsofxoroth.pro to enter into details, but I will highlight some of the features here, so you can have an idea:
Please bear in mind that almost all of the above IS already implemented into the game and needs testing. If you are interested in this concept, you have now the opportunity to help us shape this new server during the closed beta. We plan to make it community driven after all, so everything can be tweaked and modified. Also, we are not tied to Blizzlike standards, so if something is too easy, we will make it harder, if something is unbalanced, we can change that at our will.
I insist that you take a look at our website, where everything is explained much better and in detail. You'll see the bigger picture there.
The server is online and waiting for more beta testers. We have started phase 2 of the CBT, and rates are currently raised to x3, so leveling should be very easy (2-3 days to level cap). We need more max level players to test oPvP mechanics. There are currently 300+ approved testers but we need more! You can apply for the closed beta here:

Think of it as a merge between the sandbox element of Eve Online and the accessibility of WoW. - Unmodified WotLK 3.3.5a client as base (no need to patch anything, everything is server-side).
- Hypercapitalist free market (Nothing binds to the soul, everything has a price).
- No factions outside the starting zones and faction capitals.
- Conquerable territories system, where a guild can take control of different open world territories.
- Gear drop system. Your gear will be destroyed/dropped if you are killed in a PvP encounter in a conquerable territory. This is needed to create a real market, and to spice up PvP encounters between player guilds in these territories.
- Maximum level during CBT: 50, after CBT the level cap will be raised to 60 to enjoy Vanilla content and start a progressive server (using WotLK client nevertheless).
- CBT playing area will be limited to north of Kalimdor and capital cities, to concentrate initial beta testers in a smaller area and thus diminish the drawbacks of low population a little bit.
- Resources: The best resources and farming areas are the conquerable territories, so you'll need to fight for them!
- More importance for professions.
- Real, competitive PvP (Restricted gear, tournaments, etc)
- Lineal leveling instead of exponential from level 10 onwards. It'll take you the same amount of time to level from 10-11 as of 49-50 (Note that in the CBT, leveling rates may get increased after testing linear leveling mechanics to allow easier access for testers to new characters).
- Professions leveling system: You can level up crafting! This was implemented by tester's request.
- Custom introduction quests to explain new players what the server is all about.
- Untouched core mechanics: We haven't destroyed leveling, lore or combat mechanics.
- Dedicated machine in the OVH datacenter in Paris, France, should have nice latency in Europe and decent speed for North America.
- And more things (Gold bank, new items... tons of things).
