Stuck on Authenticating

I've got the EMUCOACH 4.3.4 all setup and running locally (client and server) just fine. However, when I try to connect publically the client screen is stuck on the "Authenticating" dialog. Since it works internally, I am sure this is an easy/bonehead fix. I've opened ports 3724 and 8085 and checked them externally. I've updated the auth db realmlist with the external IP address. Are there any more necessary ports to open? Even though I didn't think it was the problem I registered with no-ip a domain and updated my windows hosts file. The only other thing of note I can think of is I'm getting a worldserver error message in the logs when authenticating:

WorldSocket::handle_input_header(): client (account: 0, char [GUID: 0, name: <none>]) sent malformed packet (size: 8, cmd: 1867972645)

I'm getting frustrated and hoping one of you can help me. What is my bonehead mistake?

Thank you ExO and sorry for the very common question and need to post the canned response. Yes, public and I got it going. I'm not sure what it was, but went through all the steps and one of them worked.

We are experiencing frequent disconnects while in GM mode. Any suggestions on a place I can look, something I can look into to resolve the constant disconnects?

Glad to hear that the public part worked!
Is it only when you are in GM mode? And is it the entire realm (worldserver) crashing, or only an individual error? Is there any errors popping up on authserver or worldserver after the DC? What are you doing while it happens?

Just a few questions to get a better understanding of it :)

I am trying to establish a pattern, but it isn't easy given the intermittent nature of the disconnects. I'm going to keep trying on different systems with different account settings. What I have found is that while using gm commands like .mor or .demorph .mod scale, it seems to eventually disconnect - haven't picked up on a specific target, or command sequence. When it does disconnect, I don't get anything in the auth logs, but do get these three log messages.

Not received CMSG_TIME_SYNC_RESP for over 30 seconds from player 15 (Nick), possible cheater
Not received CMSG_TIME_SYNC_RESP for over 30 seconds from player 15 (Nick), possible cheater

I have read that you've posted they aren't anything to worry about though?

Sorry for my slow reply,
Yes, this is mainly console warnings due to this package not being sent properly, but won't do this.

Is it only you, or also others?

Could you paste me Server.log as well? It sounds strange, but should be something simple causing it.
