Hey guys,
As somebody who just stumbled into this world a few days ago, I'm having a bit of trouble finding information on the rock-bottom basics of how to get your release to work. I've got a working WotLK repack, but that was just an extract and go type thing from SPP, this is definitely a bit more involved.
I've got all the pieces of your Cata Release, but I can't find a guide anywhere on how to assemble them. For example, I grabbed the data folders (MAPS, VMAPS) because it was mentioned in the FAQs that it's the absence of them is causing the worldserver to crash, but I'm not sure what to do with those folders. Do they go in an already existing folder, or a new one created somewhere? I think there's an already-assumed level of knowledge to even some of the beginner's posts that may be a bit over my head.
I'm not looking to dig into the mechanics, just set up a running game for myself to play single player with bots. Is there an "baby's first Trinity Core" guide for folks like myself? Just the basic end-user who stumbled in off the street?
