Camera View on ground after dismounting until hearthstone or log off...

I looked around but didn't find anything on this. I am using v6.0, the camera angle moves to ground level after I dismount from either a horse or a griffin. I can pan the camera up in third person view but it is a little wonky. If I go back to first person view, I am looking at everyone's feet. The view angle resets itself properly after I use my hearthstone or log out and back in. I'm not sure if this is a bug or something I have set wrong. I have used three different computers and it does it on each one. Not sure if this matters but every character was human.

I moved this to the proper section, the bug reports section.
Also, because this is a bug report, please try to use the proper format:
http://www.emucoach.com/showthread.php?211-Bug-Report-FORM-MUST-USE

It might be fine now, since you were a bit detailed about it, but it's up to the developer's of the repack to decide, I guess.

Also, does it only happen on human characters? Or other characters also, etc?
I've noticed this bug before, but I don't think I've noticed it on v6.1, which is the previous VIP version, the current being 6.2. So it might be fixed on the current versions, but I couldn't tell you for sure since I haven't played since v6.2 came out, so it's been a while.

Honestly not sure if this IS a bug or not, first try getting in game hitting esc key and going to interface. From there go to camera and use the drop down menu to never adjust camera and see if that helps.

I tried your suggestion and it doesn't have any effect. I am still looking at feet after dismount. As far as other races, I am not certain. I have only gotten a human up to riding so far. Will try out other races. Thanks for the replies.

Well it was just a thought, sorry it wasn't a solution. I will pay closer attention when I play again to see if I notice this.

Thanks for trying. I noticed that my perspective stays at foot level even if I remount. Its just odd.

If you are the owner/GM of the server, just use GM commands to level yourself up to level 20, then give yourself gold.
I can't remember if there's an item id for gold or if it's a specific command to add gold, but I can at least tell you the command to level yourself up.
Code:
.levelup X
Make sure you have your character selected, and either '.levelup' to level up once, or replace the x to level up that many times.
For example:
Code:
.levelup 19
A character at level 1 should go to level 20.

I am the server owner/operator but I am still learning the commands. Have been running an EQ server for years. The only way I have found to add gold is to directly edit the character in HeidiSQL. I will level a few up this weekend, after the house projects are done, and test it out. I was running Flameshots repack for WOTLK for a year or so and never noticed this issue. I leaned more towards it being something I did instead of doing a bug report because I didn't see anyone mention this problem anywhere and I figured it would be something that would have been pointed out pretty quickly. /shrug Maybe it's only annoying to me. Thanks for the help. I will report back with more info after more testing this weekend.

Has nothing to do with the issue mentioned, Mortow is talking about a possible bug in which his character is in first person camera mode after flight taxi or riding mount dismounting. If put back in third person (above the head) after said dismount his view is then looking at his feet.

Iroflu was just explaining to me how to level up some characters to test other races to see if they had the same problem. I got some time tonight and tested a dwarf and a night elf. Both react the same way. I have tried mounting and dismounting in both 1st and third person view, same result. I generally play in 1st person and it sets my camera on the ground so I am looking at everyone else's feet. I can zoom out to third person view but the angle is off. I watched closely when zooming in and it places my camera view at just below my belt level instead of returning to head level. It by no means makes it unplayable just awkward in 1st person.

I was giving him the commands so he doesn't have to create and level new characters up to 20. Don't worry, I didn't accidentally post the wrong thing :p

Oh in first person, I thought you meant in 3rd person, that it lowered the camera greatly so the 3rd person camera was about an inch from the ground.
I haven't actually seen the issue then, as I've never played in first person, so I can't really say if this is only you or not.

I misread your first post, which is why I said I've seen this bug before personally.
Sadly I don't have the laptop with all of my WoW stuff with me on hand, or else I'd test it immediately with the newest VIP version to see if it's fixed or not.

Until I can test it on 6.2, have you tested it on another client? It's possible it's just a client issue, but I wouldn't know since I'm not much of a WoW developer.

Another observation, if it helps any, whether you are in 1st or 3rd person view, when you mount, the view perspective does not change (as in get higher since you are sitting on a mount). When you dismount the camera angle is moving down and instead of going down from a higher vantage point to normal, it is moving the perspective from normal level to a lower one. As if the code is compensating for the dismount but not for the actual mounting. Hope that makes sense.

I tested on v6.2 tonight and it does the same as v6.0. It has to be a z-axis handler in the code. It takes in to account the lowering of the z-axis when you dismount but does not raise the z-axis when you mount up. After a dismount, the z-axis of the camera drops. If you mount once again, the z-axis of the camera does not raise and the view stays low so that when you dismount a second time, there is no change in the camera angle at all. This is most apparent in 1st person view.

I did try a different Cataclysm client that I had from before and same issue. I even tried a new account and character, thinking maybe something with old account or character was causing it, no luck.

This is still an occasional problem. Three times my wife has made a female goblin, And after the fourth and goal quest she gets on her hot rod, And from then on her view is from foot level. I have found no solution, And I haven't been able to recreate it myself. Even morphing her hasn't worked. Mounting doesn't either.
